Eric Hatfield

ERIC HATFIELD, CLU, ChFC, CLTC

President of Hatfield Insurance & Financial Services, Inc.

Eric is a registered investment adviser and licensed as an agent for life & health insurance products (which includes life, health, disability, and long term care insurance products, as well as fixed annuity products). He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) professional designations from the American College at Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He also holds the Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC) designation from the Corporation for Long Term Care Certification, Inc.

Eric earned his bachelor of science in architecture from the University of Virginia (1996). He was inspired to leave the architectural profession in 2002 to pursue a career in insurance and financial services after a personal experience as a victim in a car accident. Being disabled for a year with seven fractured vertebrae and losing his best friend gave Eric a crash-course education on the value of the products and services he now provides clients.

Eric began his career as an agent for MassMutual where he was recognized with the 2004 New Associate of the Year award by Michel Financial Group. This award is given to an associate in his/her first 3 years in recognition of exemplary professional career development and personal production. In his formative years, Eric was mentored by two seasoned agents, Bing S. Newton, CLU, ChFC and Steven F. Davidson, CLU, ChFC, both of whom spent over 42 successful years in the business. It was the inspiration of these two mentors that lead Eric to pursue a strong educational background to support the services he offers.

After 7 years as a career agent with MassMutual, he established Hatfield Insurance & Financial Services, Inc. in 2009 and reorganized the firm as a Registered Investment Adviser in 2014 to deliver investment and insurance services to his clients through an independent platform. Delivering financial services through this independent Registered Investment Adviser format gives him access to thousands of investment choices on a single institutional platform and benefits his insurance clients by giving him more flexibility in designing insurance solutions. Clients appreciate the peace of mind in knowing that products and services are being offered to them objectively without allegiances to any particular company.

Eric has served on the investment committee of several masonic organizations. He is a Past-President of the Century City Rotary Club, Past-Master of Santa Monica/Palisades Masonic Lodge #307, former Treasurer of Santa Monica/Palisades Masonic Lodge #307, and Past President of Wildfire Networking club in West Los Angeles. He is father to two amazing children. And in his spare time, he loves playing tennis.
